WHY "JUST BOOKS?"

The name "just books" represents the goal, Rebecca, myself, and other educators hope to achieve. It is with our hope, hard work, and dedication to change that diversity will be the norm that all platforms, marketing experts, and educators incorporate naturally to ensure inclusive representation and the perspectives of everyone. The term "diverse books" is utilized to include underrepresented faces, voices, and experiences. While the intent of the term is well-intentioned, the term is broad and continues to otherize the books placed in this category. Books do not have assignments, they are not exclusive to specific students and identities, they are "just books" to be read by everyone and to include everyone.
